Allison Girvan - Vocalist
Allison Girvan's music career has seen experience as a professional singer, arranger, and director. She has been a featured soloist on recordings and in performance with ensembles including musica intima, Elektra Women's Choir, The Vancouver Chamber Choir, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and a vocalist for studio sessions for radio, T.V. and feature film.
In 1993, Allison met Canadian Celtic Tenor, John McDermott and began a music relationship that has seen her involvement is several recordings, international tours, and the PBS special, "A Time to Remember". She now lives in Nelson, B.C. where she continues to record for television and feature film scores.
Allison is thrilled to have completed her debut solo cd, "Resonance". The collaboration on this project with husband and award winning composer/arranger Don Macdonald makes this an even more exciting and rewarding venture. Allison's vocal talent and easy going personality have earned her the respect and support of many wonderful Canadian musicians who are featured on the cd - Nelson guitarist Paul Landsberg, and bassist Mark Spielman,Vancouver based musicians; percussionist Joseph (Pepe) Danza, cellist Peggy Lee, bassoonist Anthony Averay, and Toronto guitarist Bill Bridges (Quartetto Gelato, Bowfire, former music director for John McDermott).
